In California, State law requires all security guards that work in K-12 school districts (SB-1626) or that work in California community college districts (SB-390) to complete 24-hours of training based on the BSIS School Security Guard Training Syllabus. The certificate required by the BSIS is provided at the end of the online course.

Course Outline
This course follows the School Security Guard Training Syllabus created by the BSIS to fullfill the both the SB-1626 and SB-390 requirements.

CA State Requirements for School Security Guards

CA State law SB-1626 requires security guards in Kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) school districts, and CA State law SB-390 reqires security guards in community college districts, both to complete a 24-hour course of training developed by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) in consultation with the Commission on Peace Officer Standards (POST).
